The Progressive Union Missionary Baptist Church celebrated Women’s Day on Sunday, Sep-tember 24, 2017 at the 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. worship services. Theme for this year’s Women Day was “Standing on His Promises”, scripture reference was Hebrews 6:9-12. Speaker for both services was Rev. Dr. Bernice Belt, Associate Minister at Highland Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Paducah, Ken-tucky. Her 8:00 sermon was “When Women Pray”, scripture reference Matthew 15:21-28. Her 11:00 a.m. sermon was “You Don’t Have to Bleed Any-more”, scripture reference Matthew 9:20-22. Music for both services was provided by the Progressive Union Women’s Day choir. The Progressive Union Came 2 Praise (C2P) Dance Ministry ministered in dance at both services.
Prior to Women’s Day worship services on Sun-day, the Women of the church sponsored ‘Tea at Two’ on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the church’s Family Christian Life Center (FCLC). Mistress of Ceremony for this event was Minister Dianne Bryant, of the Church Street Cum-berland Presbyterian Church in America. The vari-ous ministries and departments were asked to adopt a table for the tea, the result was an array of tables beautifully decorated.
