Spiritual Vision Initiatives (SVIs) – Core Services
Are core services of the Jail and Prison Ministry (JPM), dedicated to supporting incarcerated
individuals, returning citizens, and their families. As part of our holistic approach—and in partnership
with ANVOO—SVIs aim to foster spiritual growth, healing, and transformation. Through these
initiatives, we empower participants to reintegrate successfully and become productive, contributing
members of society after their release.
SVI-1 Re-entry: In partnership with the Alabama Non-Violent Offender Organization (ANVOO), SVI-1 focuses on supporting the successful reintegration of non-violent offenders into society. Through biblically grounded reentry and life skills classes, this SVI helps participants prepare for a new life rooted in the gospel. Our goal is to encourage spiritual growth, strengthen family ties, and empower individuals to become productive, Christ-centered community members.
SVI-2 Pen Pal Connect: Connect with inmates of PUMBC Family members via mailing: Birthday Letters, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Letters. Semi-Annually purchase commissary items $60 per inmate through ADOC online Access SecurPak.
SVI-3 Spiritual Hygiene Gift Bags and Essential Items: Purchase and provide personal hygiene items for inmates and coordinate the packing and delivery of hygiene gift bags or items to Limestone Correctional Facility (LCF), Madison County Jail and Tutwiler Women Prison.
SVI-4 AIMS: Transport family members from Northern Alabama to Tutwiler Women’s Prison on the 2nd Saturday of each month. Pickup family members at the Huntsville Medical Mall, 1963 Memorial Pkwy, @ 6:30 am; arrive at Tutwiler @ 10:00 am. Depart Tutwiler around 12:30 pm. Arrival time back to Huntsville at approximately 4:30 pm depends on traffic.
SVI-5 School Book Bags: Provide school book bags or gift cards to children of AIMS parents and PUMBC children who parents are incarcerated.
SVI-6 Angel Tree: Purchase, deliver or mail Christmas gifts to childrens who parents are incarcerated.
VI-7 Preach, Teach and Facilitate (PTAF): Preach the gospel, teach bible study and biblical life skills to incarcerated inmates at Limestone Correctional Facility (LCF) and Madison County Jail.
SVI-8: Promote public awareness of obstacles facing ex-offenders, to include the welfare of those incarcerated, laws, recidivism rates and prison reform.
