Subject: Return To In Person Worship

Grace and Peace to All

I just want to give an update on our return to in person worship. The targeted date for our return to worship was designated as July 19, 2020. I understand the desire to gather together and fellowship, but the timing for returning is not wise at this time.

As you may know, Madison County has experience an increase in COVID-19 cases. This is cause for concern because the community that we service is disproportionately affected by this virus. The data concerning who is at risk and how the virus is spread changes daily. One fact that remains steady is that large crowd gathering are incubators for the spread of the virus.

Therefore, the return to in person worship has been postponed until further notice. Understanding that it could be a while before we’re able to enjoy in person fellowship, Progressive Union made a significant investment in the latest technology to ensure that we remain a “Church in the Word Making a Difference in the World.” Please take full advantage of the following platforms…

  • Zoom Meeting. Attend Sunday School classes each Sunday. An email is sent on Saturday evening and Sunday morning with information on how to participate. Also, Zoom Meeting can be used by ministries to conduct your monthly meeting. Contact IT@pumbchurch.org for authorization. You do not need a computer, smart phone or pad to enjoy this feature. You can use your home phone and dial the Chicago number provided and enter the meeting ID to join.
  • WDJL 1000 AM. Live broadcast each Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • Live Streaming. View Sunday morning worship service and Wednesday evening Bible Study on our website, pumbchurch.org, Facebook, and YouTube. You can watch in real time or view later.
  • Live Stream With Chat. This platform is of upmost importance in that it allows you to participate as if you were in attendance. With this feature, you’re able to share your comments, questions, or prayer requests in real time. This platform is staffed during each service and you will receive a response to your comments. Please take advantage of this platform. Your input is valuable as you share with the congregation the revelation knowledge that the Lord has revealed to you as we coupe with this pandemic.

Thanks for your understanding as we navigate through this trying time, understanding that we are the light of the world.

Blessing

Joe Stevenson
